Responses and Actions

The Covid-19 pandemic has disproportionately affected poor migrant communities, which is why we took it upon ourselves to launch a ‘Covid Response’ campaign to highlight their needs. Our primary objective of this campaign was to create awareness about their plight and find resources to share among them. We are proud to report that this phase of the campaign was immensely successful, thanks to the generous donations and support we received. In fact, we managed to provide support to over 600 individuals during the initial stage of our campaign! As evidence of the impact of our work, we have created a gallery of photos showing the numerous donations which we received from kind-hearted donors.

The second objective of the campaign was to connect community groups and leaders together and share resources. This goal was instrumental in establishing our Community Advocates, who are active members of various groups throughout West Yorkshire. As a direct result of this, we have managed to create multiple online meetings with them to hear from and support one another.

Inspired by the community’s resilience and response to Covid-19, the third objective of our campaign led us to conduct interviews and produce a report. This report highlights the challenges faced by our community partners and how they addressed them amidst the pandemic. If you are interested, please follow the links below to view and read the report.

Finally, we are proud to share some of the responses we received to our campaign. If you are interested in donating or learning more about our Covid-19 Response Campaign, please reach out to us at info@racialjusticenetwork.co.uk.
